The pinnacle of the college football season is set to commence tonight! Pitted in the BCS Championship game is #1 Alabama Crimson Tide vs #2 Texas Longhorns. Now,  I know ladies are stereotypically not interested in this kind of contest. But, who doesn’t love the idea of having two of today’s top college teams going head to head? Then add to the football drama, the fact that both teams are undefeated for the season! I, for one, am truly excited by this matchup.

The Crimson Tide, lead by head coach Nick Saban and Heisman winner Mark Ingram, cashed their ticket to the big dance by dominating the Florida Gators in the SEC Championship. On the flip side of the coin, the Texas Longhorns escaped with a last second field goal over the Nebraska Cornhuskers to claim the Big 12 crown and a trip to the BCS title game.

With 3 other undefeated teams this season in TCU, Boise State, and Cincinnati, there are varying opinions as to whether or not these two teams should be playing for the national championship. At this point, after enduring 33 bowl games in the last month, I say who cares? This girl is just hoping for a good hard nose, grind it out kind of game! But if I had to choose a winner? Well……”Let’s Roll Tide!”

Happy New Year! We are trying to kick off 2010 with a bang! For the upcoming year, my tween and I were looking to find a project to work on together. After much discussion (and martinis), I was talked into a blog venture!

With a few interesting daily random thoughts and weekly posts, we hope to minimize the growing pains between a tween and a parent all the while learning more about the city, people, and cultures surrounding us! So here’s to quality time spent with each other and a successful blog project!
